What is Balanset-1A?

Balanset-1A is a portable two-channel vibration analyzer and field balancer. It measures vibration amplitude and phase and calculates correction mass and angle for one- or two-plane balancing while the rotor remains in its own bearings.

Which model do I need?

Balanset-1A is used for fans, pumps, mulchers, crushers and other rigid rotors balanced in one or two planes. Balanset-4 is used for cardan shafts and as the measuring system in cardan-shaft balancing machines. It has four vibration channels and supports up to four correction planes.

Can the rotor stay in the machine?

Yes. Field balancing is performed in the rotor's own bearings when sensors, a phase mark and safe access for trial and correction weights are available.

Does balancing replace vibration diagnosis?

No. High vibration can also come from looseness, misalignment, bearing damage, resonance or process forces. Check the spectrum and mechanical condition before adding correction mass.

What is included with Balanset-1A?

The standard official kit includes the two-channel measurement unit, two vibration sensors, laser tachometer, magnetic stand, scales, software and carrying case.

What is included with Balanset-4?

The official kit lists a four-channel interface, four vibration sensors, optical sensor, magnetic stand, scale, software and transport case.

Is a computer required?

Yes. Both systems use a Windows PC and connect through USB. Confirm current software requirements with Vibromera before ordering for a specific computer.

How many runs are needed?

A normal balancing sequence uses an initial run, one or more trial-weight runs and a verification run. The exact count depends on the number of planes and whether valid influence coefficients are already saved.

What is a trial weight?

It is a temporary known mass placed at a known angle. The change in amplitude and phase lets the software calculate how the rotor responds and determine the correction.

Where should vibration sensors be mounted?

Mount them rigidly on the bearing housings, as close as practical to the bearings, with a consistent measurement direction. A flexible guard or thin panel can distort the reading.

Why is a reflective mark needed?

The laser tachometer reads one reference pulse per revolution from reflective tape. This supplies rotational speed and the phase reference used to locate the correction angle.

Can Balanset balance flexible rotors?

The standard field workflow is intended for rotors that behave as rigid rotors at balancing speed. Flexible-rotor work requires specialist modal procedures and should not be assumed from the portable kit specifications.

Can the software show an FFT spectrum?

Yes. The official descriptions list overall vibration, the 1× component, phase and FFT spectrum functions, plus logs and balancing reports.

Can saved data be reused?

The software supports archives and repeat balancing. Saved influence coefficients can be useful for geometrically identical rotors when the fixture and measurement setup remain controlled.

What safety steps are essential?

Use the machine's lockout procedure before installing sensors or weights, secure every trial and correction mass, refit guards where required, keep personnel clear and never exceed safe operating speed.
