Application guide

Balancing industrial fans on site

Fans are the machine most often balanced on site: the impeller stays in its own bearings, and all you need is a sound rotor, a stable operating condition and access to the correction planes.

Direct answer

Can Balanset-1A balance a fan?

Yes, for a rigid fan rotor with one or two accessible correction planes. Measure near both bearings, use one reflective phase mark and verify that the 1× rotational component is consistent before correcting mass.

Before the first run

Mechanical checks come first

  • Clean the impeller and remove deposits.
  • Check blades, hub, shaft, bearings, foundation and fasteners.
  • Confirm that dampers and process conditions will remain stable during every run.

Order of work

A controlled balancing sequence

  1. 01

Mount vibration sensors rigidly near the drive- and non-drive-end bearings.

  2. 02

Place one reflective mark and align the tachometer for one clean pulse per revolution.

  3. 03

Record baseline amplitude and phase at the normal controlled speed.

  4. 04

Add a securely attached trial weight in the selected plane, repeat the run, then apply the calculated correction.

  5. 05

Remove the trial mass unless the software explicitly includes it, and complete a verification run.

Not sure which system fits your machine?

Just write what machine you have — a fan, a crusher, a pump, anything that rotates. Our engineers will take it from there and confirm the right setup before you order.
