Balancing centrifuges and separators

Product buildup and drum wear dominate centrifuge vibration. Only a clean, mechanically sound drum is worth balancing.

Direct answer

Can a centrifuge be balanced without disassembly?

Yes, for a rigid drum after complete cleaning and crack inspection. An uneven product cake must be removed first—otherwise the calculated correction compensates a temporary state, not the rotor.

Before the first run

Mechanical checks come first

  • Clean the drum completely: an uneven product cake imitates rotor imbalance.
  • Inspect the drum for cracks, wear and corrosion—service speeds make this a safety issue.
  • Check bearings, dampers and the suspension before any run.

Order of work

A controlled balancing sequence

  1. 01

Run the machine clean and empty at its normal working speed.

  2. 02

Mount sensors on the bearing housings and confirm that the 1× component dominates.

  3. 03

Use small, securely fixed trial weights consistent with the high service speed.

  4. 04

Install the correction in the drum's designated balancing planes.

  5. 05

Verify at working speed and document residual vibration for the maintenance record.

Not sure which system fits your machine?

Just write what machine you have — a fan, a crusher, a pump, anything that rotates. Our engineers will take it from there and confirm the right setup before you order.
